The Pattern Behind Every Successful Career Change

🎧SpotifyYouTube

A transparent update on where Life Between Titles stands after 25+ conversations. Savan shares what he's learned, introduces the new Work, Unscripted series, and talks about the pattern he keeps seeing across every guest who has actually made it through a career change.

Key Takeaways

  • Raw Honesty Over Polished Scripts: Savan scrapped four or five recorded versions of this update because they all felt fake, and chose instead to deliver an unscripted, unedited version. The decision itself mirrors the show's core philosophy: authenticity matters more than polish when navigating real human struggles.
  • 25 Conversations, A Growing Community: Since October, the show has recorded roughly 25 conversations with people navigating career pivots, identity shifts, burnout, and reinvention. Savan reports the show is working — people are listening, engaging, and reaching out — which validates the premise that surfacing silent struggles helps others feel less alone.
  • Upcoming Episode: Danielle Luhmann's Unbelievable Arc: Savan previews an upcoming episode with Danielle Luhmann — a lawyer-turned-product-designer-turned-insurance-consultant-turned-therapist who also runs ultra marathons and raises kids. He calls her story 'so far out there you wouldn't believe it if someone just told you,' framing it as one of the best episodes yet.
  • Affiliate Partnerships Introduced With Integrity: To sustain production, Savan is introducing affiliate partnerships — but only with companies he genuinely believes in and that align with the show's mission. He frames this transparently as a way to keep producing high-quality content without cost to the listener.
  • Expanding Into New Formats: Two new formats are coming: curated tactical videos (starting with AI and resume strategy) and a new show called Work, Unscripted, focused on people with unconventional, offbeat, or surprising careers. Both extensions stay grounded in the Life Between Titles philosophy of navigating uncertain times.

Q&A

Questions answered in this episode

Is the Life Between Titles podcast actually helping people, or is it just another career show?

Savan reports that after roughly 25 episodes, people are listening, engaging, and reaching out — which tells him the show's focus on the space between jobs is resonating. The goal was always to surface the struggles people carry in silence, and the audience response suggests it's doing exactly that.

What kinds of guests and stories does the show feature?

The show features real conversations with people navigating career pivots, burnout, identity shifts, and reinvention — not polished success stories but honest accounts of the messy middle. The upcoming Danielle Luhmann episode is a good example: a lawyer who became a product designer, then an insurance consultant, then a mental health therapist, all while running ultra marathons and raising kids.

Will the show start running ads that are not relevant to what I am going through?

Savan is introducing affiliate partnerships only with companies he personally believes in and that align with the show's conversations about career and life transitions. He's transparent that these partnerships help fund production, and he asks listeners to engage only with things that are genuinely useful to them.

Are there more tactical how-to resources coming, or is the show always going to be conversational?

A new video series is in development that will be more tactical and actionable — the first episode will focus specifically on AI and resume strategy. It's designed to complement the longer-form interviews with practical guidance, while still staying rooted in the show's philosophy of helping people through uncertain times.

What is Work Unscripted, and how is it different from Life Between Titles?

Work, Unscripted is a new companion show focused on people with unconventional, offbeat, or surprising careers — paths you'd never imagine could become someone's livelihood. While Life Between Titles centers on the transition experience, Work, Unscripted highlights the destination: the weird, wonderful, specialist careers that exist beyond the traditional job market.

I had a really nice script that I wrote and I did four or five recordings. And all of them were just trash. So here's the unedited, unscripted version of what I'd love for you guys to take away from this update. So Life Between Titles has grown tremendously since October. We have had about 25 conversations and these are all real conversations with people that are struggling with career pivots, identity shifts, burnout, reinvention. you name it. And the goal was to focus on that space in between and to uncover the struggles that people have. and my hope was that by highlighting a lot of these things that people are struggling with, we can help other people that may be struggling in silence. And let me tell you something, it's working. People are listening. People are engaging and interested. So for the previous guests of Life Between Titles, thank you, thank you, thank you. This wouldn't be possible without you. And for the people that are listening and are getting something from these conversations, hang in there, it gets better. All right, next thing is the latest episode of Life Between Titles will feature Danielle Luhmann. Danielle was fucking fantastic. the minute I actually read her script, it didn't seem real. So she went from being a lawyer to a product designer. to an insurance consultant, to owning businesses, supporting her parents' businesses and then eventually becoming a mental health therapist. All while doing a bunch of different things like running ultra marathons, raising kids, being married. All that stuff is really fucking hard. And she's doing all these things on purpose, which absolutely blows my mind. I think this next episode will be one of the best because it is so far out there and you would never believe it if somebody just told you that story. Okay, next update. In full transparency, the show takes a lot of time to produce. And so what I'm going to be introducing is affiliate partnerships. These are companies that I truly believe in that I think will actually help out the world instead of bringing it down. There's so much swirl that's happening right now. And Over time, I will be introducing these affiliates. There's going to be no cost to you. They will be in line with the conversations that we have. And so what I ask is that if you see something that we are promoting and it's helpful for you, please interact with it. It helps to show out. It helps these conversations continue to happen. And it helps me produce high quality shows for all of you. Okay, the third thing that I'm excited about are the introduction of curated videos. video of this curated series is Life Between Titles diving into your resume and the application of artificial intelligence and how that improves or hinders the ability for your resume to stand out. That's gonna be the first one that's coming up. It's gonna be a lot more tactical. It's gonna be a lot more actionable. but it's still going to be grounded in the life between titles philosophy of helping people navigate through uncertain times. And the last thing that I'm excited about is it going to be a new show called Work, Unscripted. So we've got Life Between Titles, we've got Office Hours, and Work, Unscripted is going to be introducing conversations with people that have unique, extraordinary, or quirky jobs, things that are off-beat, things that you would never in your life imagine could be a job. These are unconventional paths that people have taken to become specialists and successful in their fields. I'm really excited about these conversations and I hope you are too. And that's it, folks. That's all of it. There's a lot that we covered since October and a lot more that I'm excited about. Please like, subscribe, comment. And at the end of the day, if you don't do any of that stuff, just drop me a line. Tell me if it sucks. Tell me if it's great. All that stuff will be beneficial to how we can improve the show moving forward. This is Savan. Let's get it.
